PAI members Vickery Holman have been appointed by Together Commercial Finance to handle the sale of Langdon Court Hotel which was placed in administration earlier this year. The sale of the 16 Century, Grade ll* listed 4 star Jacobean Manor House Hotel very close to the beach at Wembury, near Plymouth, is expected to attract interest from existing hoteliers, developers or buyers looking for an opportunity to acquire a larger estate near the coast. When owners Heritage Hotels went into administration in December 2019, it was hoped that Langdon Court Hotel could continue to operate as a hotel and wedding venue but that proved not to be the case and the hotel closed in April 2020.
The property stands in 10 acres of ground including beautiful gardens, a vineyard, lakes and two cottages in addition to the 19 en-suite bedrooms in the main property.
‘We’re delighted to receive the instructions for the sale of such a stunning and important property for the region. Langdon Court has a long history and is well known in the area as an events and dining venue. The property offers plenty of potential to reopen as a high-end hotel and venue. Alternatively it’s a prime site for development or would make a wonderful home for anyone looking for an impressive property with atmosphere and land near the coast.’ Commented Ollie Steer-Fowler, Head of Leisure at Vickery Holman.
‘There’s so much history attached to Langdon Court. Much of the original Renaissance garden still exists and it has been visited by royalty including Edward Vll. The house was a home for hundreds of years before being turned into a hotel in the 1960s.’
The property is being marketed with a price tag IRO £1,850,000 and all enquiries should be made to Ollie Steer-Fowler at Vickery Holman
