In response to changes in the commercial property market, PAI members Vickery Holman have appointed Chris Sexton to Head of Lease Advisory Services.
‘We’re seeing high volumes of demand in specific markets, such as around leases’ said Robert Beale, Director of General Practice Surveying at Vickery Holman. ‘Businesses, whether occupiers or landlords, are reviewing financial overheads and property is usually a significant cost. We have a specialist team across the South West who are able to review leases, help with lease negotiations and advise on lease restructuring. It’s important to get professional help with leases, as the financial implications can be considerable.’
Chris Sexton recently joined the firm as part of the acquisition of property consultants King Wilkinson and brings additional expertise to the team. ‘Vickery Holman has a wealth of local knowledge around market conditions in the South West, vital for effective lease consultancy which often draws upon comparing valuations and rents in a specific location. Businesses are especially keen to review rents and leases at the moment.’ Added Chris Sexton.
The lease advisory services team help landlords, investors, owners and occupiers with all aspects of leases for commercial properties across the South West. Leases can be complex so the priority is to give the best advice the team can, based on its expert knowledge of the law of leases as well as understanding the sector and market conditions.
Rental values, rent reviews and rent concessions are topics that the team are frequently approached about.
