Pieminister picks Sheffield to serve up its 15th restaurant

Award-winning gourmet pie company Pieminister has brought its unique cuisine to discerning diners in Sheffield, following the recent acquisition and opening of new premises at 67 Division Street. This is the company’s 15th restaurant and their second in Yorkshire, following their highly successful debut in Duncan Street, Leeds in June 2016. It is also hot on the heels of the Brixton opening just before Christmas.

The search continues for a further 3 outlets by the end of 2018, with Pieminister set to expand its number of restaurants to 30 by 2020.

Pieminister offers a delicious range of pies and sides (including mash, gravy and mushy peas) as well as snacks, served with craft beers, ciders and cocktails. They also supply over 80 pubs a week around the UK with their pies – all of which are made with ethically sourced ingredients – as well as a number of major supermarkets.

In addition, Pieminister has also launched a range of soft serve ice cream sundaes that compliments the pies. Served in waffle-cone ‘pie crusts’ and made with fresh organic British milk, they’re thick, creamy and delicious.  From the frozen yoghurt Honey Bee with honeycomb, honey, pistachio and fig to the Pork Pie-scream (vanilla ice cream laced with free range British bacon & Bourbon maple syrup, apple sauce and a free range British pork scratching) they’re fun, inventive and taste every bit as good as they look.

The 1,490 sq ft new restaurant in Division Street has an additional 790 sq ft spread over basement and first floor levels and was formerly occupied by “Nosh”.

“We have long had Sheffield in our sights, but finding exactly the right location for the Pieminister ‘offer’ has taken some time,” says Stuart Williams, Director of PAI member Williams Gunter Hardwick, who manages property acquisitions on behalf of the company.

“Division Street is located neatly between the retail city centre of Sheffield and the student quarter. It’s a popular spot for a range of cuisines and with good footfall.

“The restaurant in Leeds has proven a huge success, so we know that there is a good appetite for Pieminister’s approach to pies in this part of the world – a blend of traditional recipes plus a range of novel recipes.
Williams Gunter Hardwick is now actively seeking further opportunities for Pieminister in other long-term target locations, including Bath, Brighton, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle and Liverpool. They are also looking for more locations in London – such as Clapham, Earls Court and Tooting – together with second units in Leeds and Manchester.

Units offering between 700 and 3,000 sq ft are a possibility  - although for smaller spaces, an ancillary area either above or below will be required.

The full list of target locations can be found on the Williams Gunter Hardwick website, www.wghproperty.co.uk.
